Flexible Short Caps can be applied quickly and easily. No matter what the application, they fit snugly without cracking or splitting. Short Caps also possess excellent insulation qualities and resist weather, moisture and chemicals.
Over 60 Standard Sizes
Step 1 — Choose an Inside Diameter (A)
The Short Cap (S-Cap) product line is available in over 60 diameters. Due to their soft and flexible construction, we suggest using a cap with smaller inside diameter than the item you are trying in order to achieve a tight fit.
For example, if your outside diameter is .500” (12.70 mm), use a .437” (11.10 mm) Short Cap.
Step 2 — Choose a Length (B)
Short Caps are stocked in many standard lengths, but can be easily “dipped” to virtually any length (in .062″ or 1.57 mm increments).
- Minimum length is .187″ (4.75mm).
- Maximum length is stated in chart. For longer lengths, view our selection of flexible Long Caps.
- Inside length tolerance is ± .062″ (1.57 mm).
Note: Inside length is measured along the side wall to the radius of the closed end, not down the center. Wall Thickness “C” is measured .250″ (6.35 mm) from the open end, increasing slightly toward the closed end. Wall tolerance is ±.010″ (0.25 mm).

Stocked Short Caps are made from a 75 durometer PVC with a smooth surface and glossy finish. However, these caps can be made in materials with a variety of characteristics and features as shown below.
